I love a good love story and every wedding story starts with a great proposal! Combine that with the beauty of my hometown of Bolton Landing and you had me at hello!
I've created this guide to help you navigate planning the perfect Sagamore proposal.
Thank you again for choosing to work with me and feel free reach out at any point during the planning process!
I'm regularly asked if I ever had a proposal go wrong. And the answer to that is NO! I've never had one go wrong but early in my career I didn't necessarily ensure the planning process was highlighted. I have to admit that the photography wasn't the greatest or the bride-to-be wasn't the happiest. Each of those happened one time and one time only before I realized helping the "asker" create the perfect proposal plan ensured it never happened again!
Includes: wait time for proposal (up to one hour prior), mini e-session (30 mins), limited images with family (if in attendance) and full digital image gallery of 50-100 images (via download)
RETAINER
A fee of $225 is due at booking as a non-retainer. Any remaining balance due 24 hours prior to session date. Please see FAQs for weather refund policies due to inclement weather.
I always recommend that you create an outing that requires your partner to dress up (especially if they are very into personal style).
Below are my top styling tips.
The key is be YOU but a dressy version.
The Sagamore has so many lovely locations to photograph your proposal! Whether you want lakeside on the dock or the sweeping views of the 3rd floor overlook, you can't go wrong!
Lakeside Dockside (boat area)
Veranda Steps
Front Lawn
Lakeside Docks (from sunning area)
3rd Floor Overlook
The Back Lawn
Lower Seating Area
*very small space
Lakeside Docks (from swim area)
Soak your ring in warm water with dishwashing soap for 20 to 40 minutes. Then gently brush the stone with a soft toothbrush, rinse and repeat if needed.
I love capturing the detail of the ring up close. If you are purchasing a vintage ring, please have it cleaned or clean it yourself.
It's great if you can assign a friend or family member to help make sure we have everyone we need ready for family photos. This person should have my number to coordinate with me on the day of (518.232.1612).
It makes the whole process of family photos faster when everyone in them knows what to expect. Let your family members (or anyone else who will be present) know to stick around either at a predetermined location to watch or available by text for me to let them know to come congratulate you.
The family photos/celebration images on do on the day of your proposal are very limited as the most important part of your session is ensuring we have time for your mini engagement session. Please limit these images to no more than 6 or so groupings and only one toast.
Please let them know ahead of time that their images will be limited to the initial celebration and then limited groupings. After that they will need to go to a different location to wait (I've just found images are never comfortable when mom or dad is watching (and possibly heckling) during more intimate poses)
One of my favorite parts of your portrait experience is delivering your beautiful gallery of images! When your photos are edited and ready, you'll receive a link to your online gallery. This is a URL where you will have access to all of your images at high resolution. You can scroll through, view, and download them at any time. You'll also be able to share this link with friends and family so they can relive your best day with you!
